The Sonus Mobile Client enables a native Wi-Fi Calling experience on Android handsets that do not have native Wi-Fi Calling support from the handset manufacturer. Using the downloadable Sonus Mobile Client, operators can quickly and significantly expand the availability of their Wi-Fi Calling service, and decrease costs and subscriber churn through improved indoor coverage and voice quality.
With the Sonus Mobile Client, subscribers receive a true, native Wi-Fi calling user experience. Once installed, the Mobile Client operates in the background, like a native application, and subscribers can continue to make and receive calls using the phone’s standard dialer, contact book, call log, or with any third party application that initiates standard mobile calls. Also, voice mails are accessed exactly the same whether the subscriber is on a cellular or Wi-Fi network.
Since it can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, the Mobile Client adds Wi-Fi Calling capability to an operator’s installed base of Android phones, whether those phones were purchased directly from the operator, or through non-operator channels (i.e. open market devices). In addition, operators can pre-load the Mobile Client onto handsets as part of their standard distribution process, enabling an “out-of-the-box” Wi-Fi calling experience.
Compliant with mobile industry standards for Wi-Fi Calling, the Sonus Mobile Client is compatible with standard Wi-Fi Calling infrastructure from nearly every leading mobile core network provider, including Sonus’ Virtual Mobile Core.
The Sonus Mobile Client is the leading solution for enabling a native Wi-Fi Calling experience on Android smartphones. With over 10 years of experience and more than 10 commercial service deployments, no other solution comes close to matching its experience and success.
