The Sonus ASX Voice Application Server platform provides a rich set of class 5 voice services and seamlessly integrates clients using SIP, H.248, MGCP and NCS, allowing all to be served from the cloud by a single ASX instance. This flexibility enables multi-access cloud networks providing service to POTS, broadband, WiFi, LTE and cable users simultaneously.
An ASX instance is deployed in pairs to provide carrier-grade high availability.
The ASX provides a rich set of residential features as well as many business specific capabilities, with the ability to make any subset of features available to any subscriber from any ASX. In addition to these standard features, the ASX has some unique capabilities such as the convergence of multiple end-points for a single subscriber, and has been integrated with third-parties for additional functionality such as voicemail and prepay.
Delivered as part of a single, integrated platform for VoIP services, an ASX solution includes call routing, policy management and secure session control, enabling carriers and enterprises to get all of their core network services from a single vendor.
The solution can be deployed in a variety of scenarios including:
- Class 5 Feature Call Server for MGCP, H.248 and SIP clients
- Hosted PBX that augments or in place of premise-PBX, over SIP trunks
- Business Voice Application Server for MGCP, H.248 and SIP clients
- Mobile SIP Feature Server
Deployed in conjunction with the Sonus Access Directory Server (ADS), the ASX solution provides a subscriber services platform for millions of subscribers within an IP-based environment. By moving subscriber services to the IP core, networks can easily migrate legacy PSTN customers to SIP-based services for consistent call feature delivery.
