Key capabilities of the ePSX include the ability to:

  • Intelligently manage communications sessions routing paths, priority, admission control, etc.—based on a variety of policies including media type, source/destination and time of day/wee
  • Bring together multi-vendor environments to create centralized dial plans and call routing
  • Reduce costs through operational efficiencies, simplified network management and fewer provisioning errors, while improving network response and utilization
  • Avoid and reduce international and long-distance toll fees

Only Sonus offers the ability to operate comprehensive policy and routing capabilities from right within the SBC platform as a virtualized application.Among its many benefits, the ePSX provides the  ability to Intelligently manage communication sessions by defining rules to manage use of network resources such as routing paths, priority of sessions, admission control, etc.based on a variety of session attributes including media type, source/destination and time of day/week.Those with multi-vendor networks will utilize the ePSX to bring together those disjointed environments with centralized dial plans and centralized call routing while reducing costs through operational efficiencies and simplified network management.
Sonus policy capabilities will support you as your network grows and its needs expand.  As a member of the policy family along with the PSX, the ePSX can be also configured to serve as a replica of a stand-alone, PSX which can co-ordinate multiple policy engines, PSXs and ePSXs, creating a tightly integrated, distributed policy management and enforcement fabric.
