Sonus Harmony is a three-tier architecture that simplifies for the service provider and large enterprises, the delivery of complex UCC and SIP communications application solutions with a highly secure and robust collection of carrier grade Sonus products.
The Sonus Harmony architecture provides a session management framework for UC and SIP communications that orchestrates various, different communications elements—PBXs, messaging platforms, video applications, business collaboration tools and a wide variety of voice and video clients and endpoints—to more easily integrate and create truly unified communications. Using the communications infrastructure already in place, Sonus Harmony is the glue that ties together voice, video and messaging platforms and allows easy addition of new over the top (OTT) applications for a richer communications experience and more efficient communication enable business applications.

Sonus Harmony orchestrates all of the different elements in a SIP-based multimedia network and holds together rich media communications by:
- Normalizing the SIP variants between disparate, multivendor network devices (PBXs, , session border controllers, etc.) so that nothing gets lost in translation
- Integrating and sequencing multimedia applications from different sources (hosted, third-party, cloud) into a seamless conversation
- Managing sessions across a wide variety of end user devices and clients so that employees and customers can access the applications and services that they require independt of their physical location or device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, deskphone, etc.).
- Enforcing consistent policies (e.g., authentication, billing, call routing) across the whole session for a better, smarter user experience
